Black Rock Mountain State Park is located just North of Clayton, GA off of Highway 441. It has the highest elevation of any State Park in Georgia at 3,640 ft. There are tremendous views from the Visitors Center and some excellent hiking opportunities. The trails are very well marked and feature moderately difficult hills with excellent views. The pictures below are from a January 22, 2002 hike taken by our group. |
 The view over-looking Clayton, GA
The trail head for two trails. Pictures below are from the Edmonds trail.
The trail crosses creeks and streams several times.
The trail is very well-marked with orange blazes and frequent signs.
A great over-look of Wolffork Valley at Lookoff Mountain and a fine place for lunch or rest.
Another beautiful waterfall along the trail!
